“And I will not rest anymore, until we meet, without rushing”

The image shows a person walking along a path in a park, surrounded by flowering trees and colorful flowers. The person is wearing a yellow dress and appears to be relaxing as she walks. In the background, there is a large clock, symbolizing the passage of time, which is visible between the trees. The sunlight shines softly, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The scene conveys a sense of peace and the importance of enjoying the moment.

Don't rush: this was, without a doubt, the lesson I loved the most about my visual impairment! This isn't the first time I've said that rushing doesn't suit someone with a visual impairment. We become paralyzed, we don't function well, and there's no point in someone rushing us, because things get worse. It's kind of automatic, like an "off" button being pressed!!

Before I lost my sight, I was like 99% of the world's population: always running, fighting against the clock, and a slave to it even when I didn't have a schedule for things. Today, I see how rushing makes us lose the chance to live the moments with more presence, more intensity. It brings us more and more anxiety, the feeling that our time is always limited, that schedules are essential all the time, that spontaneity is for the weak, for those who have no goals in life, for those who are not at all organized. I confess that routine is essential for me, it gives me security and comfort in my day-to-day life, and I love the fact that I have discipline. However, taking the rush out of this reality made a lot of difference, especially when it comes to enjoying the moments, the people, the places, the food, in short, the sensations. Everything is lived with more pleasure, more dedication, more attention, without underestimating the importance of time, because it is, indeed, very important, but it cannot be the center of everything. We cannot live according to it more than necessary, because, otherwise, our quality of life decreases and we leave aside what is good and that it does not measure, does not foresee, cannot accelerate. Living life with more ease, more tranquility and peace of mind requires less rushing.

Leave it for when you're late for an appointment, or when you can't reach your watch. For everything else, take your foot off the gas and enjoy the journey, truly appreciating everything it has to offer. It's worth the effort, because it's so little compared to the reward!
